The Wireless Information Networking (WIN) group belongs to the Department of Telecommunications and Systems Engineering of UAB and is formed by a multidisciplinary team (computer and telecommunication engineers). The WIN group has a solid expertise in the application of data and statistical signal processing algorithms in wireless sensor networks and speech processing. WIN activities are focused now on the development of machine learning solutions to extract value from wireless data by considering two industrial verticals: eHealth and Automotive. WIN group is a Emergent Research Group (SGR) recognized by Catalan Government.

Antoni Morell received the M.Sc. degree in electrical and electronic engineering and the Ph.D.
degree from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), Barcelona, in 2002 and 2008, respectively.
He was with the Signal Theory and Communications Department, UPC, from 2002 to 2005 holding
a Spanish Government FPU Grant to pursue the PhD studies. He joined Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona in 2005,
where he is currently an Associate Professor. Dr. Morell has expertise in optimization techniques applied to
communications and IoT/WSN, publishing +20 papers in recognized international journals and +40 papers including conference proceedings.
Research interests:

Jose Lopez Vicario: is an Associate Professor at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB). He received both the degree in
electrical engineering and the Ph.D. degree (cum laude) from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), Barcelona, in 2002 and
2006, respectively. He also holds an MBA from the IESE Business School, Universidad de Navarra. Dr. Vicario has a wide expertise
on wireless communications and IoT/WSN, publishing 28 papers in recognized international journals, +50 papers in conferences and
supervising 4 PhD Thesis (+3 in progress). Dr. Vicario received the 2005/06 best Ph.D. prize in Information Technologies and
Communications by the UPC and holds the Advanced Research accreditation issued by Catalan Government.
Research interests:

Adrià Arús Setó is currently pursuing a dual B.Sc in Computer Engineering and Telecommunications Electronics at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, combining a strong foundation in technology with hands-on experience in electronics and software development. He is currently contributing to the Wireless Information Networking (WIN) group, focusing on the OPEN4CEC platform, where he is involved in the platform's development and its associated web application, Sirienergy. Adrià aims to leverage his skills and knowledge to deliver practical and impactful solutions in IT and telecommunications.

Nedal M. Benelmekki is pursuing dual B.Sc degrees in Computer Science and Electronic Engineering at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. In 2024, he was hosted as a Visiting Research Intern by the Analog Mixed Signal/IoT Group at University College Dublin, where he worked on power electronics for RF ICs. He has further developed hands-on experience in microelectronics, embedded systems, and software design through diverse roles. Currently, he is engaged in the "Holistic Framework for Next Generation RFID" project, combining his expertise in hardware and system design.

Marc Bracons Cucó received his B.Sc in Systems Telecommunications Engineering in 2022 from Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Upon completion of his degree, he joined the Wireless Information Networking (WIN) group where he currently works as a Assistant Researcher. In addition to his role at WIN, he is also participating in a European project focused on AI & Health. His research interests are primarily centered around Machine Learning.

Pau Comas Herrera earned his B.Sc in Telecommunications Systems and Computer Science from Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona in 2022. Currently pursuing an M.Sc in Data Science at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, Pau is engaged in the Environmental Transition of Operation based on Transfer Learning Enhancement (E-TROTLE) project as a researcher. With interests spanning data engineering and machine learning, Pau seeks to apply his expertise to tackle real-world challenges and drive innovation in data science.

Javier del Río Toledano is pursuing his degrees in Telecommunications' Systems Engineering and Informatics at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. With experience in software engineering, Python development, networking, and MATLAB programming, Javier aims to apply his skills in emerging technologies such as neural networks and RFID. His research interests focus on exploring the potential of these fields to solve real-world challenges.

Elvis Díaz Machado received the B.Sc in Telecommunications Electronics Engineering along with the B.Sc in Computer Engineering in 2020, both from Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. In 2020, he collaborated in updates to the ATLAS - PIC - BSC Pipeline as an intern of IFAE-PIC (Institut de Física d'Altes Energies - Port d'Informació Científica). Nowadays, he is pursuing his M.Sc in Computational Engineering and Mathematics and working as a research technician of WIN (Wireless Information Networking) group. His research interests include Machine Learning and HPC.

Zongxin Lyu received the B.Eng in Electronic and Information Engineering in 2019 from Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications. In 2020, she completed her M.Sc in Communications and Signal Processing from the University of Manchester. Currently, she is engaged in the pursuit of her doctoral degree as a member of the WIN (Wireless Information Networking) group, with a primary focus on research in the field of Machine Learning.

Guillem Boquet received the M.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) in 2014. In 2021 he obtained the PhD degree at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Currently working as a researcher at WiNE group, Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC).

Michael Gitau received his B.Sc. in Computer Science from Moi University in December 2009 and his M.Sc. in Data Communication in 2014 from KCA University in Kenya.

Edwar Macias received his B.Sc. in Electronic Engineering in 2014 from Universidad de Antioquia (UdeA), Colombia, his M.Sc. in Telecommunications Engineering in 2017 from Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB). Currently working as a Programmer Analyst at Netcentric.

Ivan Pisa Dacosta received the B.Sc in Telecommunications Systems Engineering in 2016 and the M.Sc in Telecommunications Engineering in 2018, both from Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. In 2016, he has been collaborating in the development of a project related to the Air Traffic Management adopting the Automatic Dependent Surveillance Broadcast system in the SME company Asociación Levelco. Then, from September 2016 to February 2018 he has been a research assistant of WIN (Wireless Information Networking) group. Nowadays, he is pursuing the Ph.D. studies in Electrical and Telecommunications Engineering under the supervision of WIN and ASAC (Advanced Control Systems & Automation) research groups. His research interests include Machine Learning, IoT, Industry 4.0 and Data Analytics.

Javier Serrano is Associate Professor at Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona (UAB). He teaches and researches at the Dep of Telecommunications and System Engineering in the area of Medical Data Analytics. He graduated in Computer Science in 1988, and received a Ph.D. (1994) degree in
Automatic Control (Computer Science Program) at UAB. He was the Educational Director and Project Manager in Speech Technologies at Center for Ambient Intelligence and Accessibility of Catalonia (CaiaC),a research center and a technology transfer node from the Catalan IT network. He also was the Director of the Infoaccessibility Service at UAB. Dr. Serrano has expertise in model predictive control, speech technologies and medical data analytics, publishing in recognized international journals and conference proceedings, and participating in national and international projects. He volunteers for Academics Without Borders (AWB) and was involved in projects with Karatina University and Aga Khan University in Kenya.
